Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), founded in 1995, is a non-profit focused on finding safe and permanent homes for children placed in the court and child welfare systems. Their CASA volunteers stand up for neglected children, strive to make sure that they don’t slip through the cracks and help them get to safety as quickly as possible. In the past 25 years they have helped 1000s of children in Lane County. Their important work includes researching the child’s current situation, making informed recommendations to the judge, and finding necessary services to assist the child. Perhaps most importantly, CASA helps give kids from troubled homes a brighter future.
